Why?
It's so trendy to have your own blog these times, isn't it. Well, I never thought I will feel need to share my thoughts but now it comes. Why? Well I don't really think that I'm gonna write that much what I think, more supposedly about what I do/did. I'm going to experience something unusual following couple months so I want to keep my friends informed. I've chosen blog as a medium since I see it much more attractive than any other alternatives (e-mail). I can post pictures, videos and get a feedback from you via comments. That's why.
About the blog
Although I may have intention to be very informative, I guess I should keep some privacy as well. I expect that I will be posting on regular basis just from the very beginning as I'll be full of new experience. I presume that I will be posting more sporadically over time as my life will get more groovy.
Language
I had a big dilemma to decide in which language will be this blog maintained. Although most of the readers (if I will have some :-)) will be the Czechs, I've started in English since I'd like to keep informed also my English speaking friends. I don't see any reason for maintaining two separate blogs since all of you Czech native speakers I want to address by this blog have no problem with understanding.
But I don't wanna make it a rule and I'm sure I will want to make some posts also in my beloved mother tongue:-). I will decide over time if it makes any sense to write in English or not.
To those of you who are native English speakers I apologize in advance for all the mistakes and especially grammar deficiency I will perform. I know my grammar is so poor and I need to be working on it SO MUCH. But here's a motivation problem that once you get beyond a certain level of language when you can somehow express what you want (regardless of whether somebody understands you or not), you just don't feel actual need to improve yourself any further. My big problem is that I can't write short sentences. Complicated sentence structures with absolutely wrong word order (based on mother tongue thinking) are just my speciality. I love to start sentence with "WELL...", I have no idea why. I'm using conditional very often but of course I don't know how to do that correctly hence I stick everywhere "WOULD". I use combination of both British and American English. I've been taught to use British English at high school but lately American English is the one I get mostly in contact with. I can hardly help myself not to use expressions like wanna, gonna, gotta etc. And I do countless other mistakes I don't even realiZe...
Presently I don't make any resolution to improve myself in any aforementioned ;-). I hope you'll be able to stand it all.
Why Vlastaczech?
Technical details (don't waste time by reading it)
Of course I tried several services. In fact I started with blogger and ended up at blogger. The best alternative I considered was Wordpress. It's more professional but free service is very limited. You can't even change layout (LOL - they charge $15/year for this). It would be only better if I would have own web hosting. I didn't feel it necessary to set up my own domain and pay for web hosting just because of this.
Although blogger has some bugs as well (I minded the most no support of navigation menu which I've solved by expanding of title description) Blogger is actually quite cool since it allows you to edit layout (CSS), use JavaScript and has numbers of various widgets. So what are you waiting for? Set up your own!
I have absolutely gave up any optimalization for MS Explorer. If you are experiencing any problems viewing this or this page looks like s..t, get the real browser (Firefox, Opera...).
Done for now!

Why Vlastaczech?
Well ;-), I know this can sound stupid but it has some special meaning for me. You would probably guess that it means Vlasta - the Czech, but for me it actually means something else and isn't intended to evoke patriotism. Those of you who master Czech language, try to pronounce it without pause. Got it? I've been actually called like this by my German friend Sandra, when she tried to say Vlasta nicely (with meaning of little Vlasta). As she already heard some such derivatives of other names, based on her experience she presumed that correct form of my name is Vlastaczech (in Czech spelling Vlastáček). And this is for native Czechs so funny that some of my friends who were there at the moment remembered this and time to time they dig at me by calling me so.
